Ulf Munkedal started working with IT security in 1997, when he co-founded the Danish security company Neupart & Munkedal. Neupart & Munkedal grew successfully in Scandinavia and moved its headquarter to the US in 2000 where it established itself as VIGILANTe.com Inc. Ulf Munkedal was CEO of VIGILANTe until 2001 and raised more than $16 million from investors. He was very visible in both Danish and US media and in 2000 he was chosen as one of the Top30 CEOs in the US aged 30 years or below.
Today Ulf Munkedal is back in Denmark, leading the IT security company FortConsult, which he founded in 2002. FortConsult specializes in vulnerability expertise and knowledge, its primary offerings being unbiased consulting services and vulnerability assessment services. As an successful executive and high profiled security expert Ulf Munkedal has a strong network among executives in the largest and most security focused companies in Denmark. FortConsult has experienced a revenue growth of more than 40% per year and has been profitable since its inception.
Before his entrance into the IT security space, Ulf Munkedal worked with data communication and network management, i.e. as VP of Engineering at CapaCity Software (later Computer Associates). He holds a B.Sc. degree in E.E./C.S.
Ulf Munkedal also enjoys helping other IT entrepreneurs and is on the board of a number of start-ups.
Lars Neupart is a recognized information security expert with nearly a decade of corporate leadership experience. Over the years, he has been instrumental in defining, developing and delivering information security products and services that have helped a number of international businesses in various industry sectors.
His expertise includes information security strategies, risk analysis, policies in accordance with International standards (ISO17799, BS7799, etc.), awareness programs and vulnerability assessments. Most Danish financial institutions have purchased products or services from Mr. Neupart at some point.
Lars currently serves as the CEO and board member of the Danish information security firm Neupart A/S. He has also been appointed to the IT-security committee of the Confederation of the Danish Industries. His patent pending system of using database objects to build information security policies and awareness programs is the basis for the flagship product of Neupart A/S.
Prior to founding Neupart A/S, Lars worked with Ericsson, Case and Olicom (acquired by Intel) and was a founder of IT security firm Vigilante.com, Inc.
For more than twelve years, Jim Reavis has worked in the information security industry as an entrepreneur, writer, speaker, technologist and business strategist. His original articles about emerging security trends have been published by Information Security Magazine, InfoWorld, Network World, SANS and Secure Computing Magazine, among others.
Jim is the President of Reavis Consulting Group and editor of the CSOinformer newsletter. Jim is an international board member of the ISSA, the world's largest not for profit association of information security professionals. Jim currently serves in an advisory capacity for many of the industry's most successful companies.
Jim founded SecurityPortal in 1998 and has been an advisor on the launch of many industry ventures. Jim has been interviewed for TV, radio and print by TechTV, CNN, CRN, InternetWeek, Interactive Week and CNET and has worked with hundreds of corporations on their information security strategy and technology roadmap. Jim was also formerly Chief Marketing Officer for VIGILANTe, a European security software company. Jim received a B.A. in Business Administration / Computer Science from Western Washington University in 1987 and began his career shortly thereafter as the MIS Manager for InterWest Bank, now part of Wells Fargo.
